LONDON, Today: Anthem, a top communications and marketing agency, earned a Highly Commended award at the PRWEEK Global Awards for its work with the New Zealand Aged Care Association. Impressively, it was the only New Zealand agency on the global shortlist.

Anthem created ‘The Domino Effect,’ a powerful campaign highlighting the challenges facing the aged care sector ahead of the 2023 New Zealand General Election.

Developed with creative agency Chemistry, the campaign uses falling aged care beds like dominoes to show the crisis’s impact on everyday Kiwis, from families caring for older parents to overwhelmed health workers.

Sarah Geel, Anthem’s Head of Integrated Communications, praised the aged care sector workers. She said, “They deserve all the awards, and more, for their tireless work for some of our most vulnerable.”

“We’re honoured this important work has been recognised on the world stage by the ‘PRWEEK Global Awards’.”

“We’re honoured this important work has been recognised on the world stage by the PRWEEK Global Awards. Our team is extremely proud of the impact this social-purpose campaign has had, which achieved pay parity for aged care nurses with hospital nurses, and policy commitments from the new government in its coalition agreement.

“The joined-up strategy we conceived, including government engagement, media relations and creative, demonstrates the power of integrated communications in delivering tangible results with a compelling call to action – in this case, desperately needed funding,” Sarah adds.

Anthem was awarded in the Non-Profit category alongside six other international agencies that had produced communications campaigns for organisations including ASICS, The Lewis Pugh Foundation, online women’s life coaching company Nosotras Las Mujeres, and the International Federation of Red Cross.

The Nosotras Las Mujeres campaign won Anthem’s category and took home several other awards, including Campaign of the Year.

The PRWEEK Global Awards celebrate transformative communications work that meets the highest standards worldwide, recognising the best teams, individuals, and activations in distinct markets.
