Spark Game Arena Live brings ultimate gaming fest to NZ

AUCKLAND, Today: Spark has announced Spark Game Arena Live: Aotearoa’s ultimate gaming festival at Spark Arena on 7th September, marking NZ’s entry into the global gaming event circuit.

In collaboration with Colenso BBDO, Spur, Let’s Play Live, BUCK, and boosted by PHD Media & Bastion Shine, the festival will gather over 8,000 gamers for world-class gaming, esports tournaments, talks, talent, music, and more.

“Gaming is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, yet it’s been largely overlooked in New Zealand,” says Matt Bain, Spark Marketing & Data Director. “At Spark, we want to leverage the power of technology to unleash an Aotearoa full of possibilities.”

The first lineup for Spark Game Arena Live includes big names like Fall Guys and Fortnite, along with talks from the NZ Game Developers Association and Digital Natives Academy. The festival will host the finals of Spark’s Rise Cup esports tournament featuring Fortnite, with a prize pool over $140k.

The festival was announced with a unique CGI billboard in partnership with Mediaworks and Assembly, supported by OOH, VOD, and paid social.

Tickets for Spark Game Arena Live are on sale now exclusively for Spark customers via Ticketmaster, with general release on 3rd July.
