AUCKLAND, Friday: Botany Town Centre is leading in sustainability by teaming up with saveBOARD. They’ve installed New Zealand’s first eco-friendly hoarding in a shopping centre, diverting over a ton of waste from landfills.
This move showcases Botany Town Centre’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact, setting a new standard for the retail industry.
The hoarding, made from 18,500 cartons and 74,000 plastic pieces, diverted an impressive 1,184kg of waste from landfills.

saveBOARD focuses on a circular economy, using 99% recycled materials to create high-performance building panels. These panels, used at Botany Town Centre, are made from shredded composite packaging, recycled boards, and soft plastics.

The sustainable hoarding not only reduces waste but also features a moisture-resistant layer, making it versatile for various applications. Once no longer needed, the panels can be recycled into new boards, embodying the circular economy model.
