AUCKLAND, Today: New Zealand’s only dedicated sports radio and audio platform, SENZ, will officially become Sport Nation from November 19 ushering in an exciting evolution of Kiwi sports media.

SENZ has developed a strong reputation in a few short years for its deep connection with New Zealand’s sporting and racing purists. Its brand awareness is undeniable among these core audiences, who trust SENZ for its expert commentary and in-depth sports coverage. But, as SENZ has grown, so too has the opportunity to reach new and broader demographics.

The Sport Nation rebrand is not just a name change; it’s a strategic move to unlock greater potential. While SENZ has established a loyal base among die-hard sports enthusiasts, Sport Nation is designed to broaden the appeal, especially to younger demographics, who consume sport differently and expect more dynamic and engaging experiences.

“This rebrand marks a critical step in our journey to grow our audience, moving from our existing base to tap into the wider Kiwi sports community, including fans who enjoy their sport across multiple platforms,” Christopher Haigh, Chief Media Officer for Entain Australia & New Zealand, the operators of Sport Nation, says.

The launch of Sport Nation will be supported by a significant marketing investment. A comprehensive campaign will be rolled out across owned, earned, and paid media channels, with an above-the-line push into television and out-of-home (OOH) advertising.

This multi-channel approach will guarantee that the Sport Nation name resonates far and wide, driving awareness and engagement across New Zealand.

An essential part of the Sport Nation transformation is the commitment to delivering cutting-edge digital experiences. Alongside the rebrand, a brand-new Sport Nation app and website will be launched, designed with market-leading functionality that will elevate how fans can engage with the platform.

“Both the app and the website will offer seamless integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ensuring fans can take Sport Nation with them wherever they go. These innovations will deliver content in ways that suit the modern sports fan’s lifestyle, expanding both reach and engagement,” Christopher Haigh says.

“Together, we can reach a wider and more engaged audience, while still staying true to our roots as the trusted home of Kiwi sport.”
