AUCKLAND, Today: Snap Inc. just named Chris Lewis as the first Talent Partnerships Lead for Australia and New Zealand, highlighting its commitment to supporting local creators.

Chris, reporting to Jim Shepherd, Snap’s Director of Global Content Partnerships, will steer strategy and outreach. He aims to foster innovative partnerships, enhancing the use of Snapchat for creativity and brand collaborations.

Previously a Senior Creative Producer at Snap, Chris brings over 15 years of expertise in content and campaign management. His new role focuses on empowering Aussie and Kiwi creators to grow their audiences and monetize their content on Snapchat’s platform, reaching over 9.5 million users in the region.

Ryan Ferguson, Snap’s Managing Director for ANZ, expressed excitement about the new role. “The appointment of Chris as our first Talent Partnerships Lead for ANZ is just one example of how we’re investing further in the growth of our creator community across the Tasman.

“I’m really excited about the new opportunities that building out this team will offer advertisers in Australia and New Zealand to connect authentically with our highly engaged Snapchat community via local creators.”

“I’m passionate about helping Aussie and Kiwi creators who may not have engaged with Snapchat or haven’t yet found their footing on the platform to feel confident about maximising all of the creative content creation tools and monetisation opportunities Snapchat has to offer.” – Chris Lewis

Snapchat has become a vital platform for creators in ANZ, with a significant increase in public posts and a tripling of creators over the past year. The platform offers multiple monetization avenues, continually adapting to better support its users.

Chris Lewis shared his enthusiasm for his new role: “As we kick off 2025, I’m really looking forward to connecting with and supporting our growing, thriving and talented local community of Snap Stars.

“I’m passionate about helping Aussie and Kiwi creators who may not have engaged with Snapchat or haven’t yet found their footing on the platform to feel confident about maximising all of the creative content creation tools and monetisation opportunities Snapchat has to offer.”

In a move to further aid creators, Snapchat introduced a new Monetisation Program last December, integrating ads into Stories and Spotlight videos. Starting February 1, 2025, creators can earn from longer Spotlight videos.

With over 8 million monthly users in Australia and 1.5 million in New Zealand, Snapchat is scaling up, offering positions in Sales, Creative Production, and Legal.
