AUCKLAND, Today: Motion Sickness has just scored big, winning a Global Grand Effie at the Best of the Best Effie Awards for its You’re Cooked campaign with Fire and Emergency New Zealand.

The long-running platform has now been in market for three years and continues to drive real behaviour change across the country.

Following its wins at the Aotearoa Effies – including Gold and the Hardest Challenge title – it’s now earned global recognition in the Government, Institutional and Recruitment category.

Effie Awards are all about ideas that deliver. To win at this level puts Motion Sickness in rare company among the world’s most effective campaigns.

You’re Cooked tackled a classic Kiwi issue – drunk cooking. Instead of warnings, it served up a solution: a no-heat cookbook with recipes for when you’re too cooked to cook.

“Seeing this campaign recognised on the global stage means so much to our team. It speaks volumes about the power of an idea that is born from real insight and delivered with creative bravery.” – Amanda Duncan

Amanda Duncan from Fire and Emergency NZ said, “Seeing this campaign recognised on the global stage means so much to our team. It speaks volumes about the power of an idea that is born from real insight and delivered with creative bravery.”

You’re Cooked has already had a tangible impact in communities across Aotearoa – and this award is a proud reminder that the work we’re doing here matters.”

Hilary Ngan Kee from Motion Sickness added, “From the start, this campaign was about cutting through — grabbing attention in a way that felt real, human, and empathetic.

“It proves what we believe at Motion Sickness: that bold, creative ideas can shift behaviour, and in this case genuinely make people safer. To have that recognised on a global stage is huge — for us, and for everyone who backed it.”

This win is a major milestone, proving that bold creativity, strong strategy, and a brave client can lead to real-world change — and global acclaim.
