What happens when you combine a handful of clever artists, buckets of Resene paint and five standard dog houses? Urbis Designday and SPCA Auckland set to find out and the result is a range of five state-of-the-art doggie dwellings, to be displayed at Urbis Designday on Saturday 21 March.

Urbis Designday invited five artists – Max Patté, BMD, Cruz Jimenez, Kathryn Stevens and Aaron McConchie – to transform the humble canine home for this initiative, Designer Dog Houses.

The dog houses are now available to be purchased via online auction and all proceeds will be donated to the SPCA’s Auckland branch.

The creative theme for 2015 Designday is Made for Living and with Designer Doghouses Urbis and the SPCA hope to highlight the importance of suitable housing for the nation’s canines.

The event is run over two days this year – Friday 20 March Designday Pro (targeting the industry) and Saturday 21 March Urbis Designday – both days are free for accredited design professionals to attend.
