Paris & New York-based site Adforum has named DDB’s McDonald’s Middle Seat TVC – a real charmer that will bring a smile to any Kiwi face – as one of its top five ads in the world for the week ending Monday 6 March.
“This is a great ad that anyone who has ever been on family road trips can relate to,” said the agency/production showcase site.
“This is a great ad that anyone who has ever been on family road trips can relate to,” said the agency/production showcase site.
Here’s what M+AD said at the time: Middle Seat, a 60” spot launched last month, represents a return to brand-building for McDonald’s, highlighting the emotional connection Kiwis have with one of our best-known brands.
The spot follows an endearing young girl called Milla over the course of several car rides. In a sight younger siblings from across the country will find familiar, Milla is perpetually relegated to the middle seat.
She spends these car rides hemmed in by a succession of less-than- appealing travelling companions including her two boisterous older brothers, bags of potting mix, and an overly-affectionate English sheepdog.
