AUCKLAND, Today: The Media Design School’s AdSchool would like to see the entire industry at tonight’s end-of-year show – so determined that they’ve hit us with two PR releases just this week!
Here’s today’s edition from course leader Kate Humphries: “After two decades of national and international awards, successful grads with awesome careers both here and overseas, (including a recent wave of grads hitting CD and ECD status) we’ve come to the end of the road. As a diploma that is.
“To cut a long story short, the educational powers that be, after reviewing our results in terms of awards and both short & long-term employment results, have said: ‘MDS, make it a graduate diploma now’.
“Free Hallertau, wines, and – rather bizarrely – G&T on tap.”
“And that’s what our new qualification will be from 2019 onwards. It’ll be even bigger, brighter, and better, because as we all know there’s nothing more motivating than powering up afresh.
“So, please come along tonight and raise a glass to celebrate our shiny new graduate diploma, our 20-year milestone, and most of all, our very last crop of diploma students.
“Students have this year continued the MDS tradition by winning One Show and Future Lion awards, as well as taking out the Top Ad School in the World for the number of awards won in the innovation category at the 2018 AdStars.
“We’re kicking off at 5.30 tonight at the Love Bucket, 309 K Rd, with 11 teams, 11 portfolios and free Hallertau beer, wines, and, rather bizarrely, G&T on tap.”
