NZ & Australia-based alternative media provider Ambient Group has added a PR division to its existing OOH & experiential divisions in Auckland, and hired former Samsung NZ PR manager Fred Russo to run it.
The move acknowledges the increased convergence of advertising and marketing communications, and the increased expectations from brands that insist experiential and PR work together to achieve measured results, Ambient Group director Chris Monaghan says.
“Brands are seeking synchronistic services more and more – and our strategy allows our campaigns to increase reach and ROI.”
The addition of PR will allow the company to utilise a combined approach to managing experiential activities while generating earned media, he said.
“We’ve started by hiring Fred Russo, a senior practitioner with a lot of depth in traditional consumer and technology PR, as our PR Director. Fred was most recently PR manager at Samsung NZ and has about nine years’ experience agency-side.
“We’re moving from strength to strength right now, and delivering sound strategies to our clients has always been a hallmark of the way we do business. Adding PR demonstrates our eagerness to provide best in class services to our already strong client base.
“We have some great opportunities lined up now and into 2015 to demonstrate our new capabilities. Watch this space,” added Monaghan.
