SYDNEY, Thursday: Current Bauer Media ANZ ceo Paul Dykzeul is retiring tomorrow (June 1) with managing director Brendon Hill to take his place. Hill, who is currently based in Auckland, will now move to Sydney.

Dykzeul has been with Bauer for over 25 years – mostly time in NZ, before he moved to Sydney to take on the wider ANZ ceo role two years ago. Both Dykzeul and Hill are Kiwis.

Hill’s replacement in Auckland has yet to be named – but executive assistant Sarah Taylor-Walker told M+AD to expect an announcement “soon”.

“We are pleased to have found a new chief executive officer from within the business.”

Bauer ANZ chief operations officer Viet Dengler (Sydney-based paid tribute to Dykzeul’s role in the business: “Paul has been with the business for over 25 years and has made an incredible contribution to its development over that time,” he said.

“We are pleased to have found a new chief executive officer from within the business. Brendon is a natural and extremely capable successor with a strong commercial background and substantial experience in both Australia and New Zealand.

“He has worked closely with Paul for the last five years, and we look forward to the future under his leadership.”
