In the spirit of supporting locals getting out and about, APN Outdoor has teamed up with three significant arts and culture events, spanning the balmy February to April period in Auckland. The Auckland Arts Festival, Ben & Jerry’s Openair cinema and the pop-up Globe Theatre join the long list of events supported by the OOH company.

First is the Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinema which is already in full swing, screening the latest blockbusters, Golden Globe winners, NZ shorts, and also features local emerging musical talent.

“APN Outdoor became involved with the event because of the great synergy between the two brands as well as the unique client entertainment aspect that the cinema provides,” said general manager Phil Clemas.

As part of the partnership APN Outdoor will also host an exclusive VIP event today where guests will enjoy the full treatment with a personalised roped-off area whilst watching the critically acclaimed film The Revenant.

The pop-up Globe Theatre is also under way, marking 400 years since Shakespeare’s death. The full-scale, fully functioning replica of Shakespeare’s second Globe Theatre has been erected in central Auckland and will feature some of the best known works until April 16 – with spectators as close to the action of 15m.

The Auckland Arts Festival opens on Wednesday 2 March and runs through until Sunday 20 March.

“Supporting the festival’s continued growth and its ability to attract world-class artists and performers is a key motivation of APN Outdoor’s involvement and the company’s ability to raise the profile of the event,” Clemas said.

“Supporting and in turn having access to these incredible events provides us with yet another way to give back to our valued clients, partners, suppliers and the broader community. From our research and experience, we know that Outdoor has an amazing ability to build awareness for, and drive traffic to events and festivals in and around the city and we look forward to seeing these events really shine throughout the late summer months in Auckland.”
