Women now outnumber men on TVNZ board: Sussan Turner has been appointed to the board of TVNZ, eight months after she stepped down as MediaWorks group chief executive.
“Sussan Turner has extensive television and media knowledge and experience,” said Broadcasting Minister Amy Adams, announcing the appointment. “She will bring real depth and substance to the role.”
Therese Walsh, a TVNZ board member since 2012, has been elevated to deputy chairwoman.
Both appointments are for three-year terms.
Whether by design or by accident, the TVNZ board now has more women than men around the table – still a rarity in most media and agency boardrooms.
