New in Auckland: After eight years in Gisborne, Alisha Birrell has joined the More FM Auckland team, where she will be responsible for all Auckland promotions. She starts this Monday (June 15). Contact her at abirell@mediaworks.co.nz.
Music consultancy taps multi-instrumentalist: Drummer Wayne Bell (whose career started at 13 when he sneaked into a Northland pub to play drums in a covers band) has joined Auckland-based music licensing outfit Aeroplane Music as creative manager.
Bell is also a talented multi-instrumentalist who writes and performs his scores for TV and film, and is in demand as a producer and arranger for many of the country’s top recording artists.
“Wayne will be advising on music choices across all of our projects,” said Aeroplane managing director Jan Hellriegel. “He will also be bringing a well developed sense of humour and a selection of unbelievable but true stories from 30 years of touring at home and overseas.”
Aeroplane currently represents the Warner Music, Arch Hill and Flying Nun catalogues.
