The MPA taps Dykzeul’s PA: The Magazine Publishers Association has appointed Chloe Delamore to the role of commercial & administration executive, responsible for the day-to-day running of MPA business, such as this September’s Magazine Awards and other industry initiatives.
At the MPA, she joins new commercial director Julian Andrews, whose appointment was announced yesterday. Both take over duties previously performed by Katrina Horton (who’s now at Bauer Media’s Next magazine).
For the last four years, Delamore has been executive assistant to Bauer CEO (and current MPA Chair) Paul Dykzeul. “When the position at the MPA became available several months ago, she put her hand up, and I reluctantly let her go – as long as she agreed to first select her own replacement,” Dykzeul says.
“In her time with the MPA, Katrina Horton did a great job of raising the profile of magazines with agencies,” says Paul Dykzeul. “Julian will now concentrate on doing the same thing with direct advertisers, who spend significantly across an even broader spread of our member’s titles.
“We believe we have the best partnership in place to keep magazines top-of-mind for advertisers, retailers, agencies and readers.”
Wellington blows a new talent agent into The Pond: August marks a ramping up of all things ‘client’ for The Pond. “We’ve hired a new talent agent, Olivia Holmes, who has teamed up with senior talent agent Angela Inglis to concentrate on offering our clients a more specialised service,” says The Pond creative ambassador Michael Dawson.(michael@thepond.co.nz).
She’ll be connecting with her Windy City roots by focusing on uniting creatives with opportunities in Wellington.
Holmes will also be supporting Inglis as she works on briefs for agencies in Auckland and Sydney.
“Olivia stood out immediately,” Dawson said. “Armed with an HR degree from Victoria University, she shone brightly, winning a research scholarship and mentoring fellow students. She travelled extensively in her three years at Emirates, and her passion for first-class service fits in nicely with The Pond’s own values.
“So if you’re on the lookout for creative resource or to fill a role in the capital city, drop Olivia a line today on 09 373 3791.”
