Sydney-based Rabbit Content (offices also in New York City and LA) has announced the signing of award-winning Kiwi director Zoe McIntosh for representation in Australia. In NZ, she will continue to work out of Thick As Thieves.
A graduate of the Fine Arts degree at Canterbury University, McIntosh went on to write and direct feature-film documentary Lost in Wonderland, based on one man’s search for justice and identity. The film received international acclaim and was awarded Best Documentary at the NZ Film & TV Awards in 2010.
She continued her run of awards in 2010 when her first short film Day Trip was selected for Tribeca Film Festival in New York City and was a finalist for Best Short Film at the 2010 NZ Film & TV Awards. McIntosh was also awarded the 2011 SPADA New Filmmaker of the year.
Since then, her career as a commercial director has taken off. She has completed commercials for Cadbury, SKY TV and YWCA, which earned her the status of Young Director of the Year at Cannes in 2013.
“I’m delighted to be joining forces with the Rabbit team and look forward to creating many outstanding commercials with them,” she says.
Rabbit exec producer Lucas Jenner said: “We are very excited about having Zoe on board. She has a unique ability of connecting with people and finding the truth in all the various genres that she can work within. She is also a great person who loves to have fun – a pre requisite for all Rabbit folk.”
