Downtown Auckland boutique communications agency Intelligent Ink has appointed Sophia Berry-Smith to the role of PR & People Person.

Previously, she was a junior account manager at Mango Communications.

Intelligent Ink director Christina Wedgwood says Berry-Smith’s hiring will increase the firm’s capacity for PR support, networking and content marketing for their wide range of clients.

Berry-Smith has a Bachelor of Communication Studies, with a major in PR, and experience in fashion and lifestyle retail and marketing. “Sophia will be an asset to Intelligent Ink’s rapidly-growing team,” Wedgwood said.

“Sophia’s experience with a larger agency, along with her exposure to different industries, means she’ll keep up with the fast-paced nature of this role,” she said. “Already, she’s done a fantastic job familiarising herself with our clients, and we look forward to seeing her grow.

“The move signals a significant change for Sophia, who worked solely on commercial accounts at Mango.”

Intelligent Ink’s portfolio of clients includes not-for-profit organisations and entrepreneurial businesses who are looking to make a difference. “Intelligent Ink is exactly the kind of place I want to work,” Berry-Smith said.

“I enjoy working with creative people who are passionate about making a difference, and the opportunity to work with charities was the perfect change of scene I was looking for.”

Berry-Smith has already been providing support on some of Intelligent Ink’s key accounts, including YMCA Auckland, Alzheimers Auckland, Just Water, Customer Radar and Earthwise, as well as assisting on the delivery of content marketing publications for large retail clients.

Anzac Ave-based Envy Studios has appointed Rachel Beard as senior producer/facilities manager. Previously, she was at Images & Sound for 11 years.

“Eleven years is a long time working with dear friends and fabulous clients – but I’m very much looking forward to new and exciting times with the Envy family,” she said.

“Before joining Images, Rachel was freelance in the film industry in the camera department so she brings a wealth of knowledge from both sides of the industry,” said Envy head of sound & technology Vedat Kiyici.
