APN Outdoor has this morning announced its acceptance of Phil Clemas’ resignation from his position as general manager, APN Outdoor New Zealand, a position he has held since February 2008, leading the company through significant changes and growth.
Clemas has also been a high profile figure in the wider advertising market in NZ, leading the reestablishment of the outdoor industry body (OMANZ) in 2009, pioneering large format digital outdoor, establishing and growing industry initiatives such as Friends In High Places as well as last year’s Pixel361, APN Outdoor’s digital creative challenge
“The announcement of Phil’s resignation comes at a time when the New Zealand arm of APN Outdoor is performing well, with significant growth and investment into the digital outdoor and airport advertising spaces,” said APNO’s Sydney-based ceo Richard Herring.
“We appreciate Phil’s commitment to the company, and wish him all the best as he takes time away from work with his family before embarking on the next chapter of his career.”
Clemas told M+AD: “I’m taking some time out with my family in New York through most of June for a decent break and time to refresh. Then we will return home to see what’s out there. A little bit scary but I’m excited by the prospect too.
“It was a hard decision to leave such a high performing team as they continue to grow their presence and expertise in the market,” he said. “I have loved my time at APN Outdoor but feel it is the right time to step away and seek new challenges.”
Richard Herring said the search for a new GM is now underway.
