MediaWorks has appointed Charlotte McLauchlan as group head of communications: In this role, McLauchlan will oversee external communications, corporate affairs and internal communications for the group, which includes TV3, FOUR and The Edge TV; radio brands The Edge, The Rock, More FM, The Breeze, The Sound, Mai FM, George FM, Magic, and RadioLIVE; a network of websites including 3news.co.nz and 3NOW, and a family of mobile and tablet apps.

NZME has turned to one of New Zealand’s journalism’s most respected newsroom leaders to take over the NZ Herald editor’s role vacated by Shayne Curry, who has moved to an expanded editorial role across all Herald brands (as acting managing editor, a position previously held by Tim Murphy). The new man in the weekday Herald editor’s chair is former Otago Daily Times editor Murray Kirkness.
