SYDNEY, Today: Uber competitor in the region, Ola (which claims to be “one of the world’s largest rideshare platforms”), is expanding rapidly – and has appointed Australia-based Andrew Balint as chief marketing officer for ANZ. AUCKLAND, Today: Google New Zealand has appointed Carrie Jones to the new role of communications manager. Previously Jones was comms manager at BBC Studios in London, responsible for developing and driving the global communications strategy for global franchise brands and priority content.

AUCKLAND, Tuesday: Prescription lenses supplier Essilor NZ (a division of Paris-based Essilor International) has appointed a local national sales & marketing manager. Essilor NZ has no creative agency of record, but has previously worked with NZ comms shops Creature, Just Soap, Incentive Solutions, and of course Impact PR (who supplied the release).
