Auckland adman needed help to save daughter

Shine managing director Simon Curran was brave enough – diving into the waters of the Bay of Islands to rescue his 5-year-old daughter when she passed out while boating with the family. But he didn’t have the CPR skills required to save her life when he hauled her still body back on board.

Fortunately, a nurse on a nearby beach, and a borrowed defibrillator saved, and daughter Jasmine has now recovered. The Currans’ holiday drama is reported in today’s NZ Herald.

M+AD tried to phone Simon Curran this morning, but he was “in meetings all day”. We wanted to ask him if he’s learned CPR (although we think we know the answer!).
