Effectiveness Function tickets on sale today
Tickets have gone on sale for the CAANZ/TVNZ/AUT Business School’s 2014 Effectiveness Function, starring this year’s Effies international judge, London-based marketing consultant and author Paul Feldwick. MediaWorks has appointed Andrew Szusterman as group content and entertainment brand director: The new role is charged with creating the cross-platform strategy for MediaWorks’ entertainment content and brands, maximising the way content is shared across the company’s television, radio and digital assets, and developing new content and revenue opportunities.

Samsung has launched a global campaign mocking the new iPhone 6. The six new ads feature two ‘Apple Geniuses’ pointing out to everyone all the features that the Galaxy Note 4 has and the new iPhone doesn’t.

Colenso, Proximity ranked No 1 in the world
LONDON: Colenso BBDO has been named the world’s smartest creative agency in new rankings released by global marketing intel website Warc. Colenso/Proximity was the world’s top digital agency. DDB NZ also featured in the Top 20.
NZ DM Awards call for entry
The Marketing Association has announced the call for entries for the 2014 NZ Direct Marketing Awards, to be held in Auckland early next year. The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday 24 October. An extended late entries deadline of 5pm on Friday 31 October is available at a nominal fee.
New agency focus on digital content marketing
Auckland senior admen Ron Sneddon and Brendan Jarvis have formed a digital content marketing agency, Story. Ron Sneddon is a media expert who’s ex Mr Smith; he also currently owns media strategy agency Super. Jarvis owns digital marketing agency The Space In Between. The pair say their new shop fills a big gap.
Guy Cousins returns to Godzone
Lotto NZ has appointed Guy Cousins as chief marketing officer, replacing general manager Val Green, who left in May. Cousins is a Brit who has spent much of his working life in NZ – managing partner at Naked from 2011-2012, strategic planning director at Spark PHD from 2009-2012.
