AUCKLAND, Today: With over a week to go, all 863 seats at The Beacons 2019 venue Shed 10 have been sold – at $265+gst per ticket, a ringing endorsement of the relevance of the big media awards show.
Comms Council events manager Natasha Galloway says the demand was much stronger than the venue would accommodate. “We could have sold many more,” she said this morning.
“The problem is the scarcity of bigger venues near downtown Auckland.”
Galloway says the problem will persist until the new convention centre is finally built – at least 12 months away.
