AUCKLAND, Today: Tickets have officially sold out for tonight’s 12th annual Battle of the Ad Bands – this year a salute to Elton John and Queen, titled Bohemian Rocketman.
“With the release of both the Queen and Elton John movies in the last year we just couldn’t decide on one, so it’s both!” said Comms Council ceo Paul Head.
The council’s sponsor for the event is Flying Fish. Eight agency bands will be competing this year. Doors open at 6pm with the first band hitting the stage at 6:30pm.
Bohemian Rocketman will see each band on stage for 15 minutes. Each must sing one Elton and one Queen track, and at least one other ‘themed’ track (scroll down for the Botab site, which contains the rules).
