AUCKLAND, Monday: Australia’s Bunnings Group is to launch a New Zealand edition of its monthly magazine, and appointed Auckland journo Lisa Morton as editor.

Bunnings Magazine debuted in Australia in March. The NZ edition will launch in July, with 80,000 copies distributed free each month across 47 Bunnings Warehouse NZ stores. A digital version will also be available online at www.bunnings.co.nz

The launch issue will focus on bathrooms, decorating, paint, soft flooring and outdoor spaces.

“Our customers are heavy print readers with a voracious appetite for content about homes and gardens.”

Bunnings Magazine editor-in-chief Jane Parbury, who’s based in Sydney, said: “Our research shows that Bunnings’ customers are heavy print readers and have a voracious appetite for content that helps them improve, update, maintain and renovate their homes and gardens.

“We’ve very excited about launching in New Zealand and look forward to providing customers with content that delivers real value and to providing advertisers with a highly engaged audience of home improvers.”

Prior to joining Bunnings Magazine, Morton was acting editor of Homestyle magazine. Previously, she worked on the launch of home interiors title Habitat.

Media sales for the New Zealand magazine will be led by Kerry McKenzie at Hawkhurst Media Services. “With its massive circulation, Bunnings Magazine is sure to be a big hit with both customers and suppliers alike,” McKenzie says.
