AUCKLAND, Today: PR consultant Cameron Brewer has put his M+AD sub on hold: “I’m standing for Parliament,” he told us, “and so I’m just having a bit of a clear out.

“Hope you are well and keep up the good work!”

He’s also closed his agency’s website (cameronbrewer.co.nz), and the future of Cameron Brewer Communications Limited is unclear.

“He worked as a press secretary in the National Party’s parliamentary research unit and Leader’s Office.”

Brewer – a Nat – served as an Auckland Councillor for two terms from 2010 to 2016 and on the Rodney Local Board from 2016 to 2019.

Before being elected to Auckland Council, he was the chief executive of the Newmarket Business Association.

Dubbed New Zealand’s youngest publisher at the time, Cameron established and ran a community newspaper in the 1990s called Inside Otago, before selling it to a business investor.

He then worked as a press secretary in the National Party’s parliamentary research unit and Leader’s Office.
