The global Ad Stars organisation has just unveiled 90 finalists from New Zealand to contest this year’s festival in Busan, South Korea, next month.

At press time, only general information was coming through from New York and Hong Kong – individual agencies have yet to be identified (we’ll update this at www.mad-daily.com as the news arrives).

What is known is that Australia has 118 entries through, and that the NZ multi-finalists include … 

  • Colenso BBDO (47)
  • DDB Group (21)
  • Y&R (9)
  • Clemenger BBDO (8)
  • Ogilvy (5)

China has 97, UK five, USA 42, Thailand 239, Japan 234, Singapore 43, South Korea 125, and Indonesia 68.

From a worldwide total of 20,342 entries, 1719 have been shortlisted by an international panel of 229 judges from 74 countries.

Saatchi & Saatchi NZ CCO Toby Talbot, and FCB New York CCO Ari Halper, are two of five Executive Judges.

The Executive and the 30 Final Judges will now vote on the Grand Prix, Gold, Silver and Bronze winners, and will meet one week prior to the 2018 Ad Stars Awards on Saturday 25 August.

The two Grand Prix winners take out two US$10,000 cash prizes.

Winners will be revealed at the 11th Ad Stars festival, from Thursday 23 August to Saturday 25th in Busan, South Korea.
