AUCKLAND, Today: Heineken’s affecting new global tvc – Ode To Close – goes to air here Wednesday, with hands-on guidance from media agency Denstu NZ. It’s already available online.

The ad was created by Publicis Italy (directed by Edoardo Lugari at Mercurio Cinematografica) and will run in NZ for one month.

DB Breweries/Heineken’s NZ creative agency Saatchi had no direct involvement (but will no doubt be chuffed to be seen keeping such illustrious company).

The ad talks to socialising responsibly, and the idea that being apart is really the best way to help us come back together.

Ode To Close
“The handshakes, the high-five,
the fist bumps, the flirt eyes,
the team breaks, dap greetings,
thumb wrestling, and cheek pinching,
hi kisses, bye kisses, air kisses, French kisses,
back-slaps, the love taps, the happy claps,
the hugging, the piggy backs, the holding,
the bear hugs, the strolling, the squeezing,
the hand-in-hand, the eye-to-eye,
holding closely, the hugging goodbye.
With the million ways of being together…
…now it’s staying apart that brings us closer than ever.”
