NZME is partnering Central Lakes Media to launch easy-listening station Coast in Wanaka this Monday on 94.6FM. Central, which is owned by former Auckland broadcaster Mike Regal, already owns media in the district, including Radio Wanaka.
NZME Group Director – Entertainment, Dean Buchanan says his team is thrilled to launch Coast in Wanaka.
“Growing the Coast national footprint and being able to take one of New Zealand’s favourite radio brands to Wanaka is incredibly exciting,” he said. “Coast plays the music people grew up with and love to sing along to, and we think the people of Wanaka will love this new station.”
The introduction of the station to Wanaka is the result of a joint venture with Central Lakes Media Ltd. Owner Mike Regal says Coast is the perfect complement to Wanaka’s existing stations.
“There has been a gap in the Wanaka radio market for a music station targeting listeners over 40. Coast on 94.6FM is the perfect fit with its mix of 60s, 70s and 80s. Being able to bring Wanaka a station of Coast’s quality and offer our clients local advertising is a win-win.”
