US title Advertising Age has paid a high compliment to Colenso BBDO, naming the Auckland agency as runner-up in its International Agency of the Year competition.
“Colenso BBDO is based in New Zealand, a market of about 4.7 million people, but it’s an agency with outsized ambition and world-class creativity,” said Ad Age in its awards results announcement, issued overnight.
The Ad Age judges specifically cited Colenso’s Backyard Burger King work as a key factor in the award. “Although that campaign focused on the New Zealand market, people from 83 countries applied to host their own Backyard Burger King,” they said.
International Agency of the Year was adam&eveDDB London. Anomaly was US Agency of the Year.
