Colenso (two), Saatchi, FCB and DDB all won Yellow Pencils at D&AD on Friday – rounding out NZ’s record-making tally of 10 Yellow Pencils – including Y&R’s whopping six Yellows, all for BK McWhopper (see M+AD Friday here).
DDB was awarded eight pencils overall and won a Branding Yellow for Sky TV’s moving Anzac tribute Unforgotten Soldiers. Sky was also the second most-awarded client.
“Winning a D&AD Yellow Pencil is always special in a creative’s career,” said DDB chief creative officer Damon Stapleton.
“It is the pinnacle. From an agency perspective, to get eight D&AD Pencils across three different campaigns is really pleasing. All in all a great night for DDB New Zealand.”
Saatchi’s Yellow came in the Innovative Use of Mobile Technology for ASB Clever Kash.
Colenso two Yellows both went to the multi-awarded DB Breweries Brewtroleum campain (which picked up a Grand Prize the same night – on the other side of the world, at The New York Festivals Awards). The categories were Direct & Outdoor.
FCB won a Yellow Pencil for Paradise Hill It’s Not OK (In PR – Creative Use of Media).
