NZ agencies Colenso BBDO and Y&R swept through the 2016 Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity, taking out five Grand Prix between them – three for Colenso’s celebrated Brewtroleum campaign, and two for Y&R’s equally celebrated McWhopper campaign. Colenso was also named Agency of the Year, and Clemenger BBDO Wellington won the Creative Effectiveness Spike.
DDB, MediaCom, OMD, Beat Communications, MediaWorks, Whybin\TBWA and PHD also enjoyed significant successes.
This year, a record-breaking 5132 entries were received across 20 awards and two new Spikes – Music and Digital Craft – were honoured.
Terry Savage, Chairman of Spikes Asia, said that this year’s award-winning work had set the benchmark of excellence across the region. “It’s inspiring to observe the year-on-year growth of the Festival, where we can award work that has a distinctly regional identity, while also being truly world-class. Spikes Asia is setting the bar of excellence for the industry,” commented Savage.
