DDB, Special star in Effectiveness Index

NEW YORK, Wednesday: DDB NZ was ranked #5th effective agency in the world in 2019 by the Global Effie Effectiveness Index. Special Group ranked #3 most effective indie agency.

DDB NZ ranked third across Asia Pacific. Colenso BBDO has ranked in at #4 across APAC, followed closely by PHD Auckland in fifth spot, Special Group in 10th spot and BCF Dentsu in at #17.

Special Group has ranked third most effective independent agency in the world, making it the #1 independent agency across Asia-Pacific. Other Kiwi agencies in the indie agency APAC rankings include True in at #4, Many Minds and Platform 29 have both ranked in at #15, whilst Shine has ranked in at #21.

The Effie Index is the objective global marketing effectiveness ranking, compiled from the insights of experienced juries of industry peers throughout the world. It is based on work done in 2018.

Unilever, Coca-Cola, WPP Group, McCann Worldgroup, Sancho BBDO and Jung von Matt topped the lists in their respective categories (Marketer, Brand, Agency Holding Group, Agency Network, Agency Office and Independent Agency).

  • The Most Effective Brands were Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Vodafone, KFC, and Ikea.
  • The Most Effective Agency Holding Groups were WPP Group, Omnicom, IPG, Publicis Groupe, Dentsu.
  • Most Effective Agency Networks: McCann Worldgroup, BBDO Worldwide, Ogilvy, Wunderman Thompson, DDB Worldwide.
  • Most Effective Agency Offices: Sancho BBDO (Bogotá), FP7/DXB (Dubai) McCann Worldgroup (New Delhi), Ogilvy (Mumbai), DDB Group (Auckland)
  • Most Effective Independent Agencies: Jung von Matt (Hamburg), Interaction (San José, Costa Rica), Special Group (Auckland), Medulla Communications (Mumbai), Rafineri (Istanbul)
