AUCKLAND, Today: DDB Group Aotearoa proudly welcomes back David McIndoe, one of New Zealand’s most awarded strategists, as Chief Strategy Officer. His return follows roles at TBWA and Saatchi & Saatchi.
With over 20 years’ experience, McIndoe has worked across banking, beer, and beyond. His previous DDB tenure from 2010–2013 saw award-winning campaigns like Steinlager’s ‘Original White Can’ and Sky’s ‘Happy Place.’
McIndoe credits his background in economics and psychology for shaping his approach. “These two areas allow me to form a broad perspective on the human, market and cultural forces that combine to shape consumer behaviour,” he said.
“David is one of the biggest brains in the industry and it is a privilege to have him back on our team.”
DDB CEO Priya Patel said, “David is one of the biggest brains in the industry and it is a privilege to have him back on our team.
“We know he will help build on DDB Group’s positive momentum and lead an already brilliant strategy team to even greater success. Plus, he’s a very very nice man,” Patel said.
Chief Creative Officer Matty Burton added: “I’m looking forward to partnering with someone who values the creative product as much as the client business problem. I know he will help make our ideas even stronger.”
When he’s not working, McIndoe enjoys time with his wife and three daughters, playing guitar, boating, and golfing. A highly talented strategist and, as the team says, “an incredibly nice man.”
