AUCKLAND, Tuesday: Kiwis looking for creative cooking ideas during the lockdown period can download an e-cookbook – a fundraising initiative for breast cancer charity Sweet Louise, created by them and boutique agency Expand PR.

The digital cookbook, which features ‘31 recipes for 31 days’, is available to download (scroll down for the link) for a donation of $31.

With design by Kaz Design, and photography by Shaun Cato-Symonds, the modern kitchen keepsake includes recipes from Sweet Louise members (Kiwis with incurable breast cancer).

Sweet Louise ambassador Hannah Barrett, with Al Brown, Matilda Green, Shavaughn Ruakere, Sarah Gandy, Jesse Mulligan, Karla Goodwin (Bluebells Cakery), Jordan Rondel (The Caker) and esteemed dietitian Angela Berrill also contributed to the book.

“I love trying all the different recipes from the e-book, there is something in there for everyone,” says Barrett. “I download the recipes when I’m looking for inspiration – it’s so vibrant and colourful, just what we need right now!”

Recipes from Sweet Louise sponsors LOAF, Bird on a Wire and Silver Fern Farms also feature.

“Sweet Louise is doing everything it can to continue to provide support to its 700-plus members at this time.”

Emergency campaign
Due to the cancellation of fundraising events, Sweet Louise has also launched a campaign to raise funds to provide emergency food and petrol vouchers to its members when they need them most and may be feeling more isolated than usual.

Expand PR has been working with several charities and corporates on their response to Covid-19 over the past month.

“When I started Expand PR four years ago, I only had one goal in mind – to work with people who were making a positive difference in the world,” says Expand PR director Linda Shackelford.

“Since then, I’ve built a talented, remote-working team of former journalists, PR and marketing professionals who come together to support a range of charities with PR and digital – Cure Kids, World Vision, Continence NZ, Sweet Louise, Bike It Forward and ChildFund NZ.

“Our passion is to use our diverse skills to help others communicate their passion and purpose to the world and we’re privileged to be doing so at this challenging time.”
