Farrimond thumbs-up for its first CD

AUCKLAND, Thursday: Parnell-based shopper marketing agency Farrimond has appointed Amy Cattanach to the newly created position of creative director.

Farrimond MD Kamran Kazalbash said: “I first met Amy over 10 years ago when we worked together at .99, and could tell then that she had the perfect combination of creativity and pragmatism, which clients love.

“She has a solid retail background, having worked on some of New Zealand’s best-known brands, she’s a real people person and always has great ideas that really help drive a client’s business.”

Cattanach is very experienced in the retail sector and has spent the better part of 20 years fuelling her creative passion within the advertising industry.


“She launched her career with an Axis Adschool Creative Advertising Diploma, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Elam.”

She started her career at Y&R NZ, before moving to Ogilvy & Mather and then to retail agency .99. At .99 she was a senior art director and creative lead across a number of businesses.

She led creative on Warehouse Stationery and Farmers and has also worked across Sanitarium, Tower Insurance, BNZ, Westpac, Spark and New World. One of her most notable pieces of work from 2020 was the New World Supporting Neighbours campaign which was shot in record time, during the first week of lockdown.

She launched her career with an Axis Adschool Creative Advertising Diploma, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Sculpture) from Elam.

Cattanach will be working across the whole Farrimond portfolio, which includes Mars, Bird & Barrow, Griffins, Kellogg’s, Delmaine and Colgate.

“It’s awesome to be teamed up with Kam again and be part of a growing, locally owned agency,” she said. “I’m surrounded by a bunch of super talented people. We have an exciting year ahead.”

Cattanach started with the agency in early February.
