FCB ceo exits – after a tough year

FCB New Zealand ceo Dan Martin has left the agency – by mutual agreement – after less than one year in the role. And the recruitment process has now begun to find a new chief executive.

FCB has yet to officially confirm the news, which was first reported in the NZ Herald Business Section.

FCB chairman Bryan Crawford told the Herald: “We thank Dan for his contribution and wish him the best of luck in his next chapter.”

“FCB NZ’s management team will continue to lead the agency until a new ceo is appointed.”

Martin joined the agency in August last year, filling the role left by the Brian van den Hurk, who left in December 2016.

But 2018’s been a hard year for the agency, with the loss of the VW account to DDB, Paper Plus to Contagion, and Noel Leeming’s media account, and the reluctant exit of a number of staff. (It’s also won a few – VTNZ, Samsung and Audi).

Senior staff to depart include Fleur Head, Kamran Kazalbash, and FCB Media MD Rufus Chuter.

FCB NZ’s management team will continue to lead the agency until a new ceo is appointed.
