A design for the Wellington offices of FCB took out the Emerging Design Professional Award for Samantha Scrymgeour of ctrl Space, who picked up her $1500 prize at AGM Publishing’s 2016 Interior Awards show, held last night in St-Matthew-in-the-city.
Hare Interiors’ work on M11 Studio in Newmarket was named the Supreme winner.
Scrymgeour impressed the judges with a well-thought-out design philosophy delivered with an infectious passion for her craft.
“Her ideas on partial privacy and her focus on material exploration, and the careful integration of old and new, point to attention to detail and imaginative thought,” they said.
Around 200 design creatives and business owners from the NZ commercial interior industry saw the 10 prize winners presented across nine main categories: Retail, Hospitality, Workplace (up to 1000m2), Workplace (over 1000m2), Civic, Installation, Craftsmanship, Emerging Design Professional and Student.
The Supreme Award and its $6000 cash prize were presented to Hare Interiors for M11 Studio, which also took away the Retail Award.
