FCB powered Marketing Awards Supreme winner Mercury

FCB provided much of the creative power behind Mercury’s Supreme Award-winning Energy Made Wonderful initiative at last night’s 2017 TVNZ-NZ Marketing Awards in Auckland.

Energy Made Wonderful also won the Consumer Product & Services category award as well as the Best Marketing Communications Strategy award.

The night’s other big winner was Lion, which took home three awards in the FMCG, Best Brand Extension/Innovation, and Best Partnership categories with their marketing initiative Steinlager Tokyo Dry.

Amplifon – Bay Audiology, Loyalty NZ, and Auckland Transport each won two awards.

Rounding out the night’s winners were 2degrees Mobile, BCITO, Escea, Fairfax Media, Foodstuffs NZ, helloworld, J H Whittaker & Sons, Karma Cola, Kiwibank, New Zealand Olympic Committee and ANZ, Sovereign Insurance, Spark and VTNZ.

In addition to the sector and excellence awards, three individuals were also honoured. The Rookie Marketer of the Year was Caitlin Attenburrow from J H Whittaker & Sons, while the Marketer of Year Award went to Dougal Swift from the Automobile Association.

Hall of Fame for Joan Withers
Industry legend Joan Withers, the deputy chair of TVNZ and chairwoman of Mercury Energy,was inducted into the TVNZ Marketing Hall of Fame, with TVNZ chief executive Kevin Kenrick accepting the trophy on her behalf.

In addition to TVNZ, the principal sponsors were Adshel, Energi and News Works NZ; Category sponsors were Alignr, BrandWorld, GrownUps, Mailshop, MBM, Nielsen, Phantom Billstickers, TRA and Webstar.
