Sydney-based film company Goodoil – an embedded nest of true-blue Kiwis – has signed NZ director Joel Kefali to its roster.
Kefali directed Lorde’s Royals video, winner of this year’s MTV Best Rock Video, and International Video of the Year at the Muchmusic Video Awards.
“Joel knows and understands popular culture and how to communicate original ideas – we’re excited to have him at Goodoil,” executive producer Sam Long told Campaign Brief Australia.
Kefali said: “Building brands, crafting a unique and compelling way for them to communicate to the world, it doesn’t matter whether that’s working with Lorde, Katy Perry, or Hewlett Packard, it’s high stakes for all of them. They’ve got something to say and my job is to help them say it in the most interesting and engaging way possible.”
Kefali has shot commercials for HP, Alicia Keys, Hallensteins and AMI.
