Hamilton off our radar

M+AD’s coverage yesterday of a Kiwi success in The Global Awards shortlist missed one very important element – two NZ agencies (not one, as we’d written) made the list. The second shortlisted work from this country came from Hamilton creative agency PAN Media.

“Just saw your article about the ‘only one New Zealand agency’ shortlisted for the Global Awards,” writes PAN’s Abby Dalgety.

“Our little independent agency from Hamilton was also shortlisted. Us Hamiltonian folk are often overlooked being outside of Auckland but we think it is pretty damn cool a little independent agency have made it alongside the big dogs!).

Guilty as charged, Abby. We did note the second agency listed but did not recognise the PAN handle, so foolishly presumed this was an error by the awards organisers.

PAN was recognised for Midlands Health Network Itchy Burny Bits in the Advertising To The Consumer/Patient: Health Institutions & Services category.

Hamilton-based PAN, New Zealand’s only independent agency to make the cut, will be judged by an executive jury in New York City.

PAN created the Midlands Itchy Burny Bits campaign to increase awareness, normalise discussion and provide an anonymous, interactive platform. The itchyburnybits website features customisable characters who encounter situations that can affect their sexual health.
