AUCKLAND, Today: The IAB New Zealand 2024 Digital Advertising Awards lit up Shed 10, Queens Wharf, celebrating the industry’s best work and top talent in digital advertising.

Dentsu Aotearoa claimed Best in Show for Movember’s ‘Ancient Influencers,’ earning multiple golds, including Best Use of Social and Best Use of Video.

CEO Robert Harvey said, “We are honoured to receive Best in Show. Our goal was to make a difference, by harnessing creativity and cultural understanding – Ancient Influencers demonstrates a commitment to men’s mental health and highlights the power of digital advertising innovation to spark meaningful conversations. I am super proud of the team and thrilled that our long-term partnership with the Movember Foundation continues to deliver positive impact.”


PHD Aotearoa was named Media Agency of the Year for its digital growth and innovations in data and technology, including advancements in audience analysis, measurement, ecommerce, and content.

TVNZ won Digital Product or Service of the Year for TVNZ+ Activate. CEO Jodi O’Donnell said, “We are honoured to receive this award in such a competitive category.

“TVNZ+ Activate provides innovative, world-class data solutions for advertisers, and was built from the ground up to cater to local needs, based on local feedback.” TVNZ also secured gold for Best Use of SEO.

Together stood out with four golds and seven silvers. Managing Partner Kris Hadley received the Service to the Industry Award, marking a significant highlight of the evening.


NZME celebrated its win as Media Publisher of the Year, alongside gold awards for Digital Sales Excellence, Sales and Ad Operations Excellence, and a nod to Ishal Eshna, who won the Emerging Talent Award.

DDB Group Aotearoa earned Creative Agency of the Year for initiatives that drive creativity and foster future digital talent.

The Council Member of the Year Award went to Travena Addenbrooke, Spark NZ’s Marketing Transformation and Gen AI Lead, recognising her contributions as Vice-Chair of the IAB NZ Data, Privacy and Measurement Council.

IAB New Zealand CEO Angelina Farry closed the evening by acknowledging the industry’s achievements: “The Awards serve as an annual celebration of the exceptional work and expertise within the New Zealand digital advertising industry – an industry that thrives on the high caliber of skill, talent, dedication, and creativity recognised last night. Congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding achievements.”

This year’s event, now in its eighth edition, marked the largest in its history, with 136 finalists, over 120 judges, and 400 attendees celebrating excellence in New Zealand’s digital advertising landscape.
