AUCKLAND, Thursday: Top-tier commercial law firm Buddle Findlay has refreshed its brand and visual identity – amid the kind of secrecy than you’d be more likely to encounter at Mt Eden Prison.
The agency was Omnicom’s Interbrand, and PR was handled by Acumen. The basic information came from a quaint release from Acumen that spoke about “exceptional outcomes through collaboration”, but offered no credits or information about the process.
M+AD repeatedly asked Acumen for more but were effectively rebuffed at every turn. We won’t name the staffer we spoke to, because we suspect she was just carrying out orders.
“We won’t name the staffer we spoke to, because we suspect she was just carrying out orders.”
The best she could offer was this obvious evasion: “We are Buddle Findlay’s current communication agency but were not involved with this particular project.”
Which made us wonder why they bothered issuing the release in the first place.
Interbrand was just as secretive. Their website says: “We can’t wait to say hello!” but puts you through the hoops to get there. No phone numbers or email addresses provided – just multiple boxes to fill out before you get access. Check out their website (scroll down).
