AUCKLAND, Today: The 2018 Fair Go Kids Ad Awards screen tonight at 7.30pm on TVNZ 1. This year’s challenge was to make a 30-second tourism ad. There were two categories – Primary/Intermediate and Secondary, with prizes in each category.
“Thanks so much to all of you who entered – this year’s ads are amazing,” said an unnamed producer. “The kids have sold us their special slice of New Zealand – a town or suburb or their favourite landmark, playground, park, beach or mountain.
“The ad was required to be 30 seconds long (we are ruthless about timing).
“A strong, simple idea will win over technical brilliance.”
“The winning ads will be primarily judged on concept, creativity and appeal to the audience. We will also look at picture and sound quality.

There are first, second and third prizes in each category. The first prize – worth close to $10,000 – is an interactive learning suite, including smart board and Canon projector, two Canon m50 cameras plus lenses, camera bags, batteries and cards. Also part of first prize is a printer and paper pack.
Second and third prizes are Canon digital video cameras worth $500 each.
Entrants were required to upload their ad to YouTube, and email the link to the Fair Go judges.
