NEW YORK, Today: Wellington’s Klim Type Foundry has won Silver in the Typefaces category at The One Club’s 99th ADC Awards.

Klim’s success came for its work on The Söhne Collection.

Klim director Kris Sowersby, an influential figure in the birth of the Söhne sans-serif type family, said: “Söhne presents a complete, contemporary family for modern designers.”

“Söhne is the memory of Akzidenz-Grotesk framed through the reality of Helvetica. It captures the analogue materiality of Standard Medium used in Unimark’s legendary wayfinding system for the NYC Subway.

“The Söhne Collection has four families with a total of 64 fonts: Söhne, Söhne Mono, Söhne Schmal (condensed) & Söhne Breit (wide).

“Starting with the regular styles, Söhne travels through Akzidenz-Grotesk’s storied history drawing inspiration from all its disparate styles over a century of development.
