The Labour Party has released its first TVC of the election season – just one day after National released theirs (scroll down to see the National ad).
Apart from a nice touch of humour in comparing National’s sleek skiff to Labour’s fumbling dinghy, there’s little in the National ad that will change anybody anybody’s mind. The Labour ad is more purposeful – but no more convincing.
Both ads are spoiled by the strange addition of annoying subtitles.
Labour has also made a Maori-focused ad which will run in Maori and English on Maori Television.
Neither party will identify the agencies and film companies they used. M+AD believes both parties used their mates – when they should be talking to the professionals.
