AUCKLAND, Today: The Marketing Club (TMC), Australasia’s fastest-growing community for marketers, has announced its first board—a powerhouse lineup set to steer the next phase of growth, especially in New Zealand.

Launched in 2022, TMC has grown rapidly to over 10,000 members, hosted 75+ events, and built a thriving Slack group and newsletter—now backed by a leadership team focused on strategy and community.

The five-member board features Chanel Clark, Cassie Roma, Fiona Cortis, Susie Thomson-Evans, and Oliver Sweeney—each bringing a unique perspective and a shared drive to elevate marketing across Australasia.

Chanel Clark, TMC’s Founder and Chair, is a marketing consultant known for community-building and growth strategy. Her past work includes brands like Ārepa, Roam Digital, and Backchat Media.

Cassie Roma brings over 20 years in advertising, media, and creative leadership, alongside appearances on The Apprentice Aotearoa and Celebrity Treasure Island. She’s now directing her first documentary.

Fiona Cortis, Head of Marketing at BLUNT Umbrellas, led the brand’s 2023 rebrand and is recognised for her award-winning, customer-first approach and standout creative direction.

“TMC was born out of a desire to create a safe space where marketers could connect, learn and grow.” – Chanel Clark

Susie Thomson-Evans, General Manager of CHPR, brings deep experience in PR and B2B storytelling, with a client list of 20+ marketing brands across New Zealand, Australia, and the UK.

Oliver Sweeney, Senior Associate at Cowan Law, offers commercial legal expertise across property, disputes, and planning. His client-first, straight-talking advice brings valuable clarity to the board and wider TMC network.

Chanel Clark says, “TMC was born out of a desire to create a safe space where marketers could connect, learn and grow. From coming up in my career and feeling lost more often than not, I wanted to build the thing that I wish had existed for me.

“Appointing our first board is such an exciting moment because it sets us up with a fresh vision and the right people to take this organisation to the next stage.

“From thinking it was going to be a coffee meet up for 30 marketers, to now a community of 10,000 in under 3 years, we’re looking towards what the next phase of growth looks like and are ready to build something even bigger and more impactful for marketers across the country!”

With events featuring TikTok, Ziel and Adobe coming up, TMC continues to connect marketers and drive fresh thinking.
