AUCKLAND, Today: Go Media and NZME announced that they have entered a sales partnership that will see NZME including Go Media’s out-of-home media solutions as part of its multi-platform offering to their customers from next week (November 19).

Go Media has been scaling up its out-of-home portfolio in recent months with a significant number of new digital billboards, acquisition of the exclusive Wellington Metlink bus contract and fitting out the new Nelson Airport with digital media assets.

Go Media is now running a portfolio of more than 1100 unique out-of-home placement opportunities throughout New Zealand.

Simon Teagle, general manager of Go Media, said: “Being New Zealand’s largest independently owned out-of-home company, Go Media understands the value small to medium sized businesses place on dealing with likeminded businesses who understand the area and locals.

“Instead of scaling up our own sales team, we sought a partnership that offered local representation with established connections and local knowledge. With NZME’s reach across New Zealand, they are the perfect fit.”

Teagle said Go Media and NZME is a natural partnership given the clear mutual benefits. This partnership enables Go Media to harness the power of a multi-platform media company as well as an experienced and innovative sales force.

“There isn’t any other media buying point in NZ where you secure a print, radio, digital and OOH campaign as a single transaction.”

NZME chief commercial officer Matt Headland said: “Adding out-of-home to NZME’s suite of radio, print and digital platforms provides us an even stronger overall audience proposition for our customers.

The synergies between NZME and GO Media’s audiences will be a gamechanger for our customers. This partnership will drive broader reach in a number of key markets such as Auckland, however we are very excited at how we will be able to offer innovative reach solutions for our customers in Wellington and Christchurch.

“This collaborative partnership will not only deliver a one-stop, multi-platform client media buying solution, it will complement and enhance the growing NZME media stable. There isn’t any other media buying point in New Zealand where you secure a print, radio, digital and OOH media campaign as a single transaction.”

For Go Media, importance was placed in selecting a partner that was invested in New Zealand communities. NZME has offices, content creation and sales teams throughout the country and the two companies share a close alignment in corporate values.

In phase one of the rollout, NZME sales teams in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Hamilton will represent Go Media with its direct client base. Advertisers represented by media agencies will continue to work with their existing NZME and Go Media sales representatives.
