AUCKLAND, Today: Stitch, a new advertising & marketing technology consultancy agency, has opened its doors. Led by co-founders Adnan Khan & Simon Wedde, Stitch aims to help global and local businesses deliver better customer experiences by employing a combination of strategy, data, advertising and marketing technology.

Together, Khan and Wedde have more than 30 years of combined strategic, technical and implementation experience working with global technology companies, agencies and consultancies including Facebook, Microsoft, Initiative Media, Saatchi & Saatchi and Colenso BBDO.

The Auckland-based consultancy wants to help businesses close the gap between the potential of technology and stretched marketing resources by measuring business outcomes via attribution, optimising what data, marketing and advertising technology they already have before building business cases for future investments.

“Our experience is that businesses are only using about a third of the potential of their existing marketing technology and data.”

Khan said: “Attribution is the linchpin of success in marketing transformation, and without it, we cannot see a true return from the investment.

“Website analytics – using cookies – is simply not enough for attributing business outcomes across all the different channels and potential customer touch points any more.

“While the adoption of advertising and marketing technology is still relatively low in New Zealand compared to more mature markets like the United States, There is lots of opportunity and appetite within the industry for change.”

Wedde says he does not believe it’s necessarily about disrupting and installing new platforms first up either.

“Our experience is that businesses are only using about a third of the potential of their existing marketing technology and data,” he says.

“We have already had a lot of positive discussions with both their own customers and prospects in the market, and are encouraged by the growth potential identified.”
