CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday: Merivale-based comms agency Harvey Cameron has promoted Gareth O’Connor to managing director.
The agency lured him to Christchurch from PHD Auckland a year ago to take up the role of strategy & client service manager.
His career spans 20 years in the media and advertising industry both here and in London, working with ANZ, Foodstuffs, Lotto, Spark, Mercedes-Benz, Farmers, Unilever and MediaWorks.
CEO Cam Murchison said: “Gareth often talks at advertising and media industry training courses run by the Comms Council and is a regular on their strategy lab & media lab courses.
“Harvey Cameron is part of Attivo Group, which includes Farrimond, Gorilla and Rainmakers in Auckland along with 303MullenLowe and MediaHub in Sydney and Perth.
“Since joining Harvey Cameron, Gareth has become an integral part of the business as a connector and a collaborator.
“He’s deeply engaged across the organisation with both staff and clients, relentlessly delivering with an amazing level of enthusiasm. Stepping into the MD role is a natural progression.”
Gareth O’Connor said: “I couldn’t be prouder to lead Harvey Cameron. We have one of the best leadership teams in the business, fantastic staff and a great list of clients,” he says.
“We’re on a mission to help our clients thrive in whatever it is they do. I’m completely confident our talented team can help each and every one of them do exactly that.”
